The Appel Institute is part of the Feil Family Brain and Mind Research Institute (BMRI), a new entity with departmental privileges that provides a home for all basic and clinical research at Weill Cornell focused on the brain and its diseases. Through the BMRI, the Appel Institute can conduct bench-to-bedside research to develop novel therapeutics for neurological diseases to be tested in cutting-edge clinical trials, as well as bedside-to-bench investigations to enhance current treatments and to truly bridge the current gap in translational medicine.
The Department of Neurology is a premier provider of patient care with a long standing history of innovation and leadership. The Department is well equipped to provide general and specialty neurology care. The clinical faculty includes general neurologists as well as specialty neurologists who have advanced clinical training in their subspecialty. Each division is staffed by some of the world's finest physicians and scientists, supporting our interdependent missions in patient care, research, and education. Set within state-of-the-art facilities, we offer cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic clinical services. Patients are referred to our neurologists from all over the world.
