A postdoc position is available at the Helen & Robert Appel Alzheimer’s Disease Research Institute, Brain and Mind Research Institute, Weill Cornell Medicine Hospital, Manhattan, New York.
The lab focuses on Medicinal Chemistry to develop lead compounds, in collaboration with the laboratory of Dr. Li Gan, Professor and Director, at the Institute, for modulating microglial targets that are likely involved in neurodegenerative diseases. The successful candidate will have Ph.D. degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry or in similar field and have experience in assay development, high throughput screening, and hit identification. She/he will develop, optimize and execute low to high throughput screens, which include phenotypic screens, biophysical screens as well as cell-based screens; and demonstrate a strong track record of research productivity through published research in leading Scientific journals. Preference will be given to individuals with experiences in cell culture and molecular biology techniques. Knowledge and experience in the field of neurodegeneration is desirable. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required.
