The Orr Laboratory is seeking a Research Technician to support projects focused on glial-neuronal signaling and mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease. Lab members are individually trained, mentored, and encouraged to work as a team on high-impact research projects and actively prepare for successful careers in biomedical science. Primary responsibilities will include working closely with graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to carry out experiments in mouse models. Specific methods will include delivery of viral vectors into the CNS using stereotaxic injections, behavioral testing in mice, advanced microscopy in brain tissue and isolated cells, and molecular techniques such as qPCR and cloning. Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and a flexible work schedule will be essential.
