Celebrating Wenhui Qu's Achievement: Bright Focus Postdoctoral Fellowship Award!

Tauopathies, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), involve the abnormal accumulation of the toxic Tau protein in neurons, affecting millions of people without a cure. Our lab has pioneered modeling Tau buildup in human neurons using stem cells. This study proposes transplanting human stem cells into mouse brains to generate a novel chimera human-mouse model that develops Tau accumulation. Using this model, our research also examines how specific molecular pathways might affect the disease's progression. This research could lead to breakthroughs in understanding and treating tauopathies like AD.
